For her participation to Europ’ART Macha Dalmon, an artist who works and lives in La Garde Freinet (France), has devised a setting which she calls “The Strata”. Over a surface of around 250 m, the public is invited to explore “living things” - human beings, elements, animals - around a “layered” work which combines chaos, destruction and creation. The past, the present and the future are indeed represented like layers of real and virtual life which overlap one another without completely melting together, thanks to the effects of the material used (polyane). For Macha Dalmon, this is a way of wondering about our origins - certain and uncertain (the history of life) and, at the same time, about hers (her story).
